Every summer, Ibiza's population triples as thousands of seasonal workers arrive to staff the island's clubs, restaurants, hotels, and event companies. The competition is fierce, but the experience is unforgettable.
Best-Paying Roles
**Club promoters/hosts** — €2,000-4,000/month plus commissions at major venues. Requires outgoing personality, multiple languages, and social media presence.
**Yacht crew** — €2,500-5,000+/month depending on vessel size and role. Qualifications (STCW, Yachtmaster) significantly increase earning potential.
**Private villa staff** — €2,000-3,000/month for housekeepers, chefs, or villa managers. Often includes accommodation.
**Bar/restaurant service** — €1,200-2,000/month. Tips can double this at premium establishments. Spanish language ability is a significant advantage.
**DJ/entertainment** — Highly variable. Resident DJs at smaller venues earn €100-300 per night. Name DJs command significantly more.
Finding Work
The hiring cycle starts in March-April for May-October positions. Key channels include our Ibiza Community job board (the most active on the island), direct applications to hotels and club groups, recruitment agencies specialising in Balearic hospitality, and networking at pre-season events.
Accommodation
This is the biggest challenge. Staff accommodation is included with some hotel and villa positions. Otherwise, shared housing is essential — expect to pay €500-800/month for a room in a shared house during summer. Our housing forum connects seasonal workers looking for flatmates.
Legal Requirements
EU citizens can work freely. Non-EU citizens need a work permit, which typically must be arranged by the employer. Working illegally carries heavy fines for both worker and employer — we strongly advise against it.
All workers must have a Spanish Social Security number (Número de la Seguridad Social) and a contract of employment. Our community provides template contract reviews and connects members with English-speaking labour lawyers.
